Audio Note (UK) M3 RIAA Phono Stage
The Audio Note (UK) M3 RIAA phono stage features a single-ended, zero feedback circuit topology that is intended to provide the most linear amplification possible. In addition, the M3 RIAA phono stage uses pure Class A valve operation, which ensures that the signal is amplified in a linear and distortion-free manner, while also generating significant heat. This design approach is known for providing a smooth and natural sound with excellent musicality.
Featuring an ECC82 and 5687WB line stage, powered by a 6X5 valve rectified power supply based on the M10’s Galahad PSU. This power supply also includes an ECL82 for voltage regulation and a 5651 for voltage stabilization.
This phono stage utilizes Copper wiring, a mix of standard and AN (UK) tantalum resistors in key areas, Audio Note (UK) Copper foil signal capacitors, and custom electrolytic capacitors throughout the circuit. These high-quality components are chosen for their superior sonic properties and are intended to provide a clear and transparent signal path.
The M3 RIAA also features in-house designed and manufactured custom Audio Note (UK) output transformers with I-E M4 cores and Copper windings. The use of high-quality output transformers is essential to preserve the harmonic balance and dynamic range of the music, while also providing the necessary isolation and impedance matching between the amplifier and the speakers.
Additionally, the M3 RIAA includes an exceptionally fine Moving Magnet phono stage that uses three GE 5670 valves, Audio Note (UK) Copper foil signal capacitors, and its own dedicated, valve-regulated, and rectified power supply. The use of high-quality tubes and components in the phono stage is intended to provide a detailed and dynamic sound with low noise and distortion, while the dedicated power supply ensures stable and reliable performance.
