CAD believes that reducing high frequency noise on the Signal Ground and Earth connections can significantly improve sound quality in digital audio products. They attribute the “digital” sound often associated with such products to the presence of high frequency noise.

To address this issue, CAD has worked diligently to minimize unwanted noise in all their products. They have incorporated specific materials and technologies, found in their 1543 MKII DAC, USB cables, and CAT (Computer Audio Transports), into their GC3.1 Ground Control.

Capable of reducing noise from around 1MHz up to the GHz range the GC3.1 Ground Control can be connected to any audio device that has an available output or input connection. Whether it’s an RCA, XLR, Spade, USB, or BNC connector, CAD provides a range of interconnects with various connectors to facilitate the connection. The other end of the connector features a 4mm banana plug that attaches to the GC3.1 Ground Control.

CAD suggests connecting the GC3.1 Ground Control to the device in your audio system that exhibits the highest noise levels. This could include components like computers, audio servers, DACs, CD players, NAS (Network Attached Storage), routers, and even phono preamplifiers. Connecting the GC3.1 Ground Control to a phono preamplifier, which often has high gain, has reportedly yielded impressive results in terms of noise reduction.
